Bless Online Day 2, Briefly

I streamed some Bless Online on Twitch today.  There’s no sound for almost 3 minutes because I had game sound muted, but then I fixed it. I played my existing mascu berserker for a while, and then created a new aqua elf assassin, starting at around timestamp 36:30, with character customization happening at 38:00, if that’s something you want to see in action. I ran through the short tutorial to show that, too.

Here are my thoughts on this session: The performance still isn’t super-great, but that much you would have gotten from any other review. I clicked through some, but the quests are all voiced, which is a nice thing. The cinematic sequences are not bad. There are more loading screens than I am used to, especially after playing Black Desert Online. I am from the era of EverQuest (1), so that’s not exactly a deal breaker, but it is a check in the “cons” column.

The game is pretty. I’ll give it that. There was some chatter of people putting groups together and at least one guild recruitment message (in Portuguese), so it isn’t totally dead, even if it is not as populated as it should be.

I think if someone asked me today, I would tell them to only buy it on deep discount or wait for it to go free-to-play. It’s not terribad, but it is also not fantastigood enough to justify the full price.

Side Note: My daily attendance reward was chili meatloaf, which sounds like a recipe that I need to work on in my real life kitchen. My husband doesn’t like meatloaf, but maybe he’d give it a try if it tasted like chili.

  1. That’s pretty much exactly how I feel about Bless. It’s worth a go at two-thirds off if you’re scratching around for something new to play and it will definitely be worth trying for anyone interested in MMOs if it goes F2P but otherwise there are a lot of better options out there. I’m still enjoying it, though. The stories are slightly better than average, the cut scenes are good, the voice acting is variable but not terrible…and the scenery is fantastic.
